Description
We are currently hiring a Full-Time Maintenance Associate for our 4-floor facility. The incumbent will work Monday-Friday 8am-4pm with a possibility for over-time on an occasional Saturday as needed or during busy peak times in support of special events or emergency situations. Under the supervision of the Facilities Manager, the Maintenance Associate will be responsible for maintaining the building’s overall aesthetic, while following all safety and Covid protocols of sanitizing and disinfecting. JOB DUTIES - Perform heavy cleaning of assigned space including classrooms, offices, meeting areas, kitchen, dining area, bathrooms, hallways, and common areas - Sweeps, mops, and buffs floors, dusts fixtures and furniture, removes debris and trash - Assess and stock bathrooms; ensure sinks, urinals and toilets are clean/ flushed/unclogged, floors are dry and soap and paper goods are replenished; - Clean Dining Room tables following breakfast and lunch and sanitize the areas as appropriate - Facilitates office/equipment moves and setting up conference space for meetings and special events - Promptly report major repairs to Facilities Manager - Minor repair work i.e. changing light bulbs and hanging pictures and fixtures - Assist with emergency cleaning (blood, vomit, or flooding) - Clean and sterilize all high-use/high traffic areas to reduce the spread of bacteria and any other harmful agents, following established Covid protocols - Maintain exterior including snow/ice/trash removal - Receiving and moving donations to their appropriate space - Assisting in monitoring building conditions. Report suspected problems and/or unsafe conditions (i.e. unusual odors, broken hardware or units, leaks, QUALIFICATIONS - High School diploma or GED - 1-2 years’ proven experience in a Maintenance/Janitorial/Facilities capacity in a similar setting - Strong and consistent time and attendance record from previous employment - Knowledge of cleaning methods and the use and care of cleaning materials and equipment - Must be able to move, lift, and carry upwards of 75 pounds - Able to work and function in a laborious role with constant walking, bending, pushing, moving, climbing, and lifting - A “can do” attitude and the enthusiasm to be a hard-working, professional, team player - Experience working in a school setting a plus - Proven ability to work collaboratively and flexibly with a diverse population including staff, students, administration, and community patrons All potential new hires will be required to submit to a multi-level background check (Fingerprinting and CARI check).
