JLV Construction Residential Construction Superintendent Tired of your current job? Come join our team and expand your construction experience. PRIMARY FUNCTION To provide management for all phases of a construction project, including coordinating workers, materials, and equipment, ensuring that specifications are being followed, and work is proceeding on schedule and within budget. The Superintendent usually will be assigned one or more projects and will work under the direct supervision of the Project Manager (PM). The Superintendent’s direct reports are the Foremen, Journeymen, Carpenters, and Laborers or other crew members as assigned. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES Holds primary responsibility in the field for the success of projects assigned, including detailed daily field reports (job logs), communication with the PM on day-to-day basis, timely identification of problems and proposal of creative solutions Responsible for managing daily activities of projects, coordinating with others to ensure that jobs are clean and well organized 100% job safety and compliance in following all procedures and practices, conducts regular project progress meetings, and fosters teamwork among all involved parties Ensures proper subs and staffing on jobs to complete work efficiently and effectively Maintains open, daily communication with PM, Foreman, and Field Staff Fosters an enthusiastic, creative, "can do" attitude and shares the responsibility for JLV Construction and department goals SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS & KNOWLEDGE Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred Proficiency with computer and smart phone Good written and verbal communication skills Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills Practical construction knowledge with the ability to read blueprints and plans Ability to manage priorities and workflow Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm Demonstrated ability to plan and organize projects Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams Proven leadership and business acumen skills Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines Motivation for personal and professional growth Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions Ability to understand any and all safety requirements and precautions Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds WHY CHOOSE JLV CONSTRUCTION?
