We currently have a great opportunity for the right candidate as a Traveling Forman to lead our framing crew. Will we conducting interviews through next Tuesday (10/19) As stated above this is a traveling position that will require time on assignment, out of state for durations up to 21 days at a time, with 7 days off following. With that being said, lets clarify what we will provide for you. Lodging: You will be hosted in the guest lodge on the property. We are building several properties for a resort in northern Montana. During our time on assignment, the resort has offered us lodging on site with turndown service. The rooms are very nice, very spacious and have plenty of room to rest and relax after your shift. Food: Tuesday - Saturday the Resort has a chef on staff that will provide you with dinner. He will simply notify you when your meals are ready, and have you pick them up at the community center. These are not Bologna Sanwiches, Cheetos and a Juice Box. They take very good care of us. (Prime rib, Brisket, Spaghetti & Meatballs, 1/2lb Burgers etc.). On Sunday and Monday you will be responsible for your own fare. Travel: You will receive a $300 travel stipend per trip. This is to ensure drive time is compensated and you have money for food and drink while you are on the road. Fuel/ Expenses: You will receive a company travel card to cover fuel and expenses while on assignment. Transportation: It is very valuable to us if you have your own reliable vehicle, preferably a truck or SUV that can make it to and from our job location (approx. 580 miles from Boise Metro Area). If you do not, we will provide you company transportation in which you will haul necessary crew equipment and a co-driver at a negotiated rate. Pay Frequency: You will be paid weekly. Every Friday, backdated from the previous week just like any other company. If you work a full week, you will be paid your full salary for that week the following Friday. Bonuses and Incentives: A strong leader will be able to direct our crew effectively and efficiently. If the crew is strong, and we maintain a consistent schedule, you will be eligible for a project performance bonus. If you have any additional questions please feel free to ask. ** Unless you are a bachelor, we also urge you to speak with your family and make sure this is a viable option (and entertain the opinions of your loved ones). This is a great opportunity, yes. However, traveling can be stressful on your family if it is not handled properly and with care. If your house is not in order, your work wont be either. ** Let’s move along to what will be asked of you. Your leadership skills and extensive experience have earned you the ability to direct the work of others and make quick decisions. You must be well-organized and favor safety above everything else. The ideal candidate will need to possess the following attributes (these are non negotiable). * Proven experience as framing foreman (3 verifiable references) * In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment, OSHA guidelines, hardware requirements etc. * Ability to read drawings, plans and blueprints * Determine wall heights, headers, stud heights etc from a set of plans * Ability to create cut lists, wall packs etc. to pass along to crew for execution * Develop weekly and daily schedules to ensure we are staying on task * Keeping ahead of inventory to ensure no delays in progress * Identify problems and potential set backs or inconsistencies with plans before it turns into a real-world problem * Excellent organizational and leadership skills * Ability to communicate and report effectively daily * Frequent communication with superintendents and project managers to ensure all materials are in inventory, ordered or on schedule to arrive within our assignment timelines * Assertive personality * Aptitude in math * Problem-solving abilities * Good physical condition and stamina * 5 years experience in or assisting to a leadership capacity or role * Certified in CPR/ First Aid Summary of responsibilities: * Coordinate tasks according to priorities and plans * Produce schedules and monitor attendance of crew * Allocate general and daily responsibilities * Supervise and train workers and tradespeople * Ensure manpower and resources are adequate * Guarantee all safety precautions and quality standards are met * Supervise the use of machinery and equipment * Monitor expenditure and ensure it remains within budget * Resolve problems when they arise * Report on progress to managers, engineers etc. If you meet or exceed these standards for our leadership role, please reach out to us immediately so we can interview you.
