Description

Applying to USNA from the Greater DC area is highly competitive, join us to learn how to navigate the application process. Are you interested in attending the United States Naval Academy? Applying to the US Naval Academy from this area is highly competitive due to its proximity to Annapolis as well as our top-notch local school systems, presenting a unique set of challenges to those interested in attending the US Naval Academy. This session will provide prospective applicants, as well as parents and counselors, with the information they need to successfully navigate the admissions and nomination process -- which is very different from the Common Application used at most colleges and universities throughout the United States. Speakers at the event - including the USNA Candidate Guidance Office (Admissions), local Blue and Gold Officers, staff members from the offices of local elected officials, and more -- will discuss a range of topics such as life as a midshipman, the admissions process, nomination options, and career opportunities available upon graduation. In-person attendance will be limited to 250. All guests attending in person will be required to follow the COVID protocols of the host facility. We ask that each prospective candidate bring only one parent/guest. For those not able to attend in person, this event will be livestreamed. Registration will be required for both in-person and livestream viewing. Note that the Greater DC Chapter of the United States Naval Academy Alumni Association serves our community by providing support to prospective applicants to the U.S. Naval Academy by hosting information sessions to help prospective applicants decide if the U.S. Naval Academy is the right school for them, hosting candidate acceptance events to celebrate those that have been awarded admission to the Naval Academy, and supporting candidates wishing to attend Summer Seminar.
