Description

A tour around the Chicago West Ridge neighborhood's public spaces and discussion about their ability to give us a good city. In partnership with the 2021 Chicago Architecture Biennial, the Good City Group invites you to join us for a series of interactive discovery walks. The first one will be Saturday, October 16, starting at 9:30 am. Hosted by Odile Compagnon, she will lead us on a tour through the Westridge neighborhood. We will meet at the intersection of Devon Avenue and Talman Avenue at 9:30 am for a short presentation of the neighborhood's history, followed by a 45-minute walk around the neighborhood. The event will end at Devon Avenue and Talman Avenue with a brief conversation about what is good in our city, accompanied with local sweets. This is a Journee Nationale de l'Architecture event, celebrating "living together." The second walk will take place on Saturday, October 30, starting at 9:30 am. Mark Barry will lead us on a tour around the South Shore neighborhood. The meeting location is TBD and we will share it soon! Finally, the third walk in our series will be on Saturday, November 13, also starting at 9:30 am. A tour through the Portage Park neighborhood will be hosted by Benet Haller. More details coming soon.
