Description

All Aboard! Take a holiday adventure on heated, decked out trolleys on Seashore Trolley Museum's heritage railway. Come out to the Seashore Trolley Museum for a special winter treat! Ride in heated trolleys decked out in live holiday greens on our private heritage railroad, shop in the Museum Store, and enjoy delicious hot chocolate! Only $10/person; children 2 and under that will be sitting on laps on the trolley ride are free. Santa will also be on campus during three event days--see below for times! This event will be held Friday-Sunday December 3-5 and 10-12. The start time on your ticket is the time your trolley ride will depart; we depart promptly at each departure time. Our winter trolley rides are roughly 25 minutes in length and journey through our beautiful, wooded campus. You and your family/group are welcome to arrive before or stay after your ride to enjoy the museum's outdoor exhibits and displays. The Museum will be open from 10AM-6PM. The last trolley ride departs from the Visitors Center at 5PM each day. This event will be held rain, light snow or shine. Due to COVID-19, we are only selling a limited amount of tickets for each departure time and families will be socially-distanced on the ride (the image of people inside our trolley on this event site was taken during our last holiday season events in 2019). Santa will be on campus and available for socially-distanced photos during the following dates and times: Sunday, 12/5 from 3PM-6PM; and Saturday 12/11 & Sunday 12/12 from 10AM-12PM and 1PM-6PM. Our heritage railway is approximately 3 miles from downtown Kennebunkport and does not connect with downtown Kennebunkport. Our trolleys are the real deal and operate on a railroad, not paved roads -- the "trolleys" that travel on the roads are imitation trolleys built to look like the trolleys that operated in the early 1900s, the original trolleys that we have preserved and now operate on our heritage railway (please see photos above and below). This event benefits not just one great non-profit (Seashore Trolley Museum), but FIVE! Habitat for Humanity York County, Kennebunkport Parks & Rec, the Kennebunkport Conservation Trust and the Arundel Conservation Trust also will benefit through other fun holiday activities they will offer at the event that may vary each day. We will post more information here as the event gets closer. Accessibility: Seashore Trolley Museum has a Mobilift to help guests with mobility challenges access our trolleys. Mask Policy: Per a federal TSA mandate for passenger railroads, masks must be worn while on our trolleys by everyone 5 years old and older. Refund Policy: In the event of a blizzard or other significant weather event, we may cancel our event and refund your tickets/transfer your tickets to another event day if you wish. We anticipate this event will sell out quickly, as we are social distancing families on our trolleys this year, and the event often sold out when we were full capacity, pre-pandemic. Therefore, refunds will not be granted for any reason, unless someone in your group has tested positive with COVID-19 or is experiencing symptoms. We would be happy to offer a free Family Day Pass in exchange for event tickets that are unable to be used for other reasons. This pass can be used on any General Admission day at the Museum during our 2022 or 2023 season. For questions, please email [email protected] (Katie) or call (207) 967-2800 x111 (Connie). Thank you for supporting our event! Seashore Trolley Museum is the world's first and largest museum of its kind, housing over 350 transit pieces from the 1800s to present, from around the country and the world! Take a trolley ride on our heritage railroad, check out our display barns with our restored trolleys, and more!
