Five years later, she discovered “Buti Yoga,” which made her feel empowered. In 2017, she decided to further her own education with a Buti Yoga certification in her hometown of El Paso, TX, and has been teaching since. Her goal is to spread happiness and a sense of empowerment in her classes by showing students that they are beautiful, strong, and perfect just the way they are, because true beauty shines from within. Sonya Palumbo: Sonya is a local Austin artist and yoga teacher. Check out her work at: www.sonyapalumbo.art “I have to start by saying that I am someone who struggles with anxiety. However, I learned that painting helps quiet my mind. My sense of calmness is then reflected in my paintings, so when I look at them I can recall that feeling. I find being in nature to be healing which is why I’m drawn to painting bright colored flowers, water, and animals. I like to add geometric shapes to contrast the organic shapes of nature. My use of gold and silver lines is inspired by Kintsugi, the Japanese art of mending broken pottery using lacquer mixed with gold or silver powder to piece the object back together. This symbolizes taking something broken and making it into something beautiful and strong.” - Sonya Palumbo Soul Strong Yoga is located in Round Rock, Texas. We are founded on community, love, and accessibility. Our studio provides a safe space for our clients to strengthen, tone, breathe, improve flexibility, and get a great workout for their body and mind.
