Ashé Community Spread’s Community Health Workers (CHWs) are hosting their first Health Fair together at King & Queen Emporium International. Community Spread is our counteroffensive against institutionalized racism in the healthcare system, designed to train artists and culture bearers to be Community Health Workers (CHWs) with expertise in maternal and child health, mental health, violence prevention, reproductive justice, wellness coaching, and economic empowerment. The CHWs have organized a weekend of wellness featuring COVID vaccinations, health screenings, counseling services, and a special tribute to Mahalia Jackson on what would have been her 110th birthday!
