SARASOTA, FL — The Sarasota Music Conservatory, a local nonprofit organization, will move into a new downtown Sarasota location in the Rosemary District. They'll move from their current location 1693 Main Street into their new digs at 323 Central Ave. in November, according to a news release. Lena Cambis, SMC's co-founder and CEO, said that the conservatory's growth over the last few years required the move into a larger space. "During the beginning stages of the pandemic, we were not sure — as were so many business — if we would be able to survive. But we quickly adapted to online lessons and that worked for us," she said. "Then, when we were able to slowly and carefully re-open the school with stringent COVID-19 measures and protocols, our in-person students were excited to return and we also had a lot of new online students, as well. We are fortunate that we were able to grow the conservatory and help students continue to play the instruments they love." Like what you're reading? "We love the Rosemary District and already feel like a part of the neighborhood. We can't wait to grow community support and become more engaged. We love this area," Cambis said. The conservatory offers group and private music lessons for students of all ages and levels both in person and online.
