Press release from the Miami-Dade County Government: October 12, 2021 The Miami-Dade Economic Advocacy Trust Homeownership Assistance Program (HAP) is designed to increase the number of first-time home purchases for low-to-moderate income residents living in Miami-Dade County. The zero-interest deferred loan provides funding for first-time homebuyers towards down payment and closing costs, making it easier to get approved for a mortgage. Since 1995, the HAP program has funded more than 7,500 families. A first-time buyer or have not owned a home or been on the title of a home in the last three years.
