MILTON, MA — Two injured high school hockey players' teammates rallied together Wednesday night in support of their friends.
A $3,000 check was presented to the Milton Academy hockey team by hockey captains from Bishop Feehanin for Jake Thibeault, the 18-year-old hockey player who was involved in a hockey-related spinal cord injury causing him to become paralyzed in early September.
Bishop Feehanin felt a loss as well, when AJ Quetta, a player on their team also experienced a severe spinal cord injury leaving him partially paralyzed back in January.
The teams got together in solidarity and support for the two teammates and friends going through an extremely difficult time.
"The thought and what they've done is greatly appreciated," Milton Academy coach Paul Cannata was reported saying by WHDH.
According to WHDH, Quetta will be turning 19 on Saturday and the Providence Bruins have invited him and his team to their game at the Dunk that night.
