65 WI COVID Deaths In 2 Days: Highest Average Since February

MILWAUKEE, WI — Some 65 Wisconsinites have died of COVID-19 or virus-related complications Monday and Tuesday, Wisconsin Department of Health Services data showed. The seven-day average of confirmed deaths reached 17 on Tuesday, health services data showed. The last time the seven-day average of deaths was this high was in Febraury. Health services added 40 new deaths Monday and 25 deaths Tuesday. However, the total deaths Monday are usually high since it compounds deaths from the weekend. People age 80-89 still make up the most COVID-19 deaths out of all age groups in Wisconsin. People 80-89 years old make up 30.2 percent of total deaths. Long-term care facilities still report the highest COVID-19 deaths out of other house settings in the state as well. Long-term care facility residents make up 40 percent of total deaths. Wisconsin passed 8,000 COVID-19 deaths Oct. 4. So far there have been 8,217 confirmed virus-related deaths.
