DRIVE THRU BREAST CANCER AWARENESS JOIN THE BRA-VOLUTON! DONATE BRAS! October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month! October is Bra Recycling Month! Breast cancer is a disease that affects both men and women and is among the most common cancers. According to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, 1 in 8 women will develop invasive breast cancer in her lifetime. Laya Events and Females About Business (FAB) will be raising awareness for breast cancer awareness in the upcoming month! We are hosting a bra recycling drive partnering with The Bra Recyclers from October 1 through October 29 to collect bras that are in good condition and distribute them to breast cancer support groups, shelters and other charities that support women in need. Reusable or worn-out bras will be recycled to reduce the number of textiles in landfills. Help us to make a difference in our community! Join us by supporting the Bra-Volution, Sunday for Breast Cancer Awareness Month! ! Our goal is to collect 600 bras and you can help us to make an impact by donating your pre-loved bras at our drive-thru on Sunday and make a difference in someone's life. Your donations will help women during breast cancer treatment and recovery by offering prosthesis, bras and post-surgical garments. The ability to find a bra that fits properly can lift a woman's spirits and help her feel more self-confident. TYPES OF BRAS NEEDED: Sports, Regular and Nursing Bras Post Surgery Breast Cancer Supplies and Accessories (Mastectomy Bras, Prosthesis, Camisoles, Sleeves, etc.). The Bra Recyclers are proud to support a network of charity connections throughout the United States. In addition to supporting breast cancer patients and survivors, they support homeless women, domestic violence survivors, and women in transitional facilities. They are able to provide this great gift, while directly reducing the number of textiles entering the waste stream. It's GREEN, it's about GIVING back and it's being GRATEFUL for the survivors still in our lives!
