STAFFORD COUNTY, VA — An abduction attempt was reported on Jib Drive in Stafford County on Sunday afternoon, according to the Stafford County Sheriff's Office. Police said an unknown man used a knife to threaten a 7-year-old boy. The abduction attempt occurred on Sunday, Oct. 10. However, it was not reported until Wednesday afternoon, police said. "The 7-year-old male juvenile reported that on Sunday, October 10, between 1 p.m. and 6 p.m., he was followed by a white male in a red van with dents on the side," the sheriff's office wrote on Facebook. "When he confronted the driver, he produced a knife and demanded the juvenile get in the van." After the confrontation, the boy ran away from the van. Detectives with the Criminal Investigations Division are looking to learn more information about the incident.
