There were about 90,500 Available Job Postings during the September 2021 monthly reporting period, an increase of 2,500 postings compared to the previous month. There were 32,400 New (first-time) Job Postings, a decrease of 600 postings when compared to the previous month. New (first-time) Job Postings in September 2021 represented 36 percent of all Available Job Postings. 14 percent or 13,000 of all Available Job Postings during the September 2021 reporting period fell under the Management Occupations and another 14 percent fell under Computer and Mathematical Occupations, showing strong demand for experienced or senior talent and also tech talent in our region. There are currently about 700 postings indicating vaccination requirements or mentions, 260 more than the previous month. Most of these postings are related to occupations that require more in-person attention such as retail, healthcare, child care, and eldercare. There were 2,100 postings in January 2021 that offered "signing bonuses", which has increased to 6,700 in September 2021. The current top occupations that are offering signing bonuses are Registered Nurses, Software Developers and Software Quality Assurance Analysts and Testers, Heavy and Tractor-Trailer Truck Drivers, Sales Representatives, and Licensed Practical and Licensed Vocational Nurses. 38 percent or 34,500 of all Available Job Postings pay an annual median wage between $30,000 to $65,000. Of these, 58 percent or 20,000 will require a high school diploma as the entry-level education, and 14 percent or 4,800 will require a bachelor's degree. There are 560 internship positions posted by 270 companies, and 70 postings offering remote internship opportunities. There are about 3,500 Available Job Postings that specifically offer "work from home" opportunities. The top three occupations that offer "work from home" opportunities are Software Developers and Software Quality Assurance Analysts and Testers, Sales Representatives, and Customer Service Representatives. According to the Texas Workforce Commission, the Austin MSA reported an unemployment rate of 3.8% or 48,700 unemployed in August 2021. More jobs ahead. In September 2021, the Austin metro region saw another 2 more Californian companies make new relocation announcements, bringing the total to 29 for this year alone. A total of about 1,350 jobs were announced through new relocation or expansion plans in the Austin MSA for September 2021. Moveworks (Mountain View, CA), Perfect Game (Cedar Rapids, IA) Super Coffee (New York, NY), and SureCo (Santa Ana, CA) are the companies that have announced new location plans, creating about 240 new jobs in Austin.
