Description

HUDSON COUNTY, NJ — A Hudson County couple and their daughter were stopped by border patrol trying to enter Canada — the husband had been charged with sexually assaulting his daughter, whom he was trying to flee to Canada with, and a no-contact order was in place against him, according to the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office. The identity of the couple was not released to protect the victim. The no-contact order was put in place against the dad after he was arrested earlier this year for sexual assault of the girl when she was seven years old. Both the father and mother were charged with endangering the welfare of a child. The father, a resident of Harrison, was also charged with disobeying a judicial order. On February 5, 2021, the victim's father was charged with sexual assault after the child, now 12, reported to Kearny Police that her father had sexually assaulted her when she was seven years old. The case is currently pending in Hudson County Superior Court. Anyone wishing to report a sex crime should call the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office SpecialVictims Unit (SVU) at 201-915-1234.
