24-Year-Old Man Fatally Shot Near Cicero Avenue In Oak Forest

OAK FOREST, IL — A 24-year-old man was shot Tuesday near 167th Street and Leclaire Avenue, a few blocks west of Cicero, police said. Officers were dispatched to the scene around 11:48 p.m. after reports of shots fired in the area. When they arrived, police found the 24-year-old man with a gunshot wound. Officers performed first aid and took the man to a nearby hospital for additional care, but he later died from his injuries, according to police. Police aren't releasing 24-year-old's identity until officials notify his family. Police didn't share any additional information about the shooting. The Oak Forest Police Department Investigations Division and the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force are investigating the death as a homicide.
