PHILADELPHIA — Nearly 100 prison inmates at the Philadelphia Industrial Correctional Center escaped from their cells and staged an apparent uprising early Thursday, according to reports. More guards armed with riot gear showed up to get the situation under control, according to Action News. Just one guard was assigned to the unit, reports state. The prison is located in the Holmesburg section of the city along the Delaware River. No injuries were reported during the incident.
