BURR RIDGE, IL —About 70% of Burr Ridge residents have received both doses of the coronavirus vaccine, while about 66% have received at least one shot, according to data released Wednesday by the Illinois Department of Public Health. According to the IDPH, 19,509 people, or 69.92% of the residents of the 60527 ZIP code, have received at least one dose. 18,468 people, or 69.19% of residents, have received both. The percentage of Burr Ridge residents fully vaccinated is slightly higher than DuPage County, where 606,789, or 65.35% of the total population, are fully vaccinated, according to IDPH. Statewide, 63.4% of Illinoisians ages 12 and older are fully vaccinated, while 80.9% have received at least one dose. In DuPage County, the new data was released the same day that the DuPage County Health Department reopened its community vaccination center at the DuPage County fairgrounds in Wheaton. The clinic is offering booster shots to anyone who received a Pfizer vaccine at least six months ago, and first doses. Eligible booster candidates include: Residents ages 65 and older Residents 18 and older with underlying medical conditions Residents 18 and older who work in high-risk settings Residents 18 and older who live in high-risk settings The clinic will be open by appointment from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays as well as from 8:30 a.m. to noon on Friday. DuPage County has seen 5,094 confirmed cases of COVID-19, 5,569 probable cases, and 80 deaths since 2020, according to the DuPage County Health Department.
