Three Bolingbrook Firefighters Sworn In, 1 Promoted To Lieutenant

BOLINGBROOK, IL — Three firefighter/paramedics were sworn in at Tuesday's Bolingbrook Village Board meeting. Firefighter/paramedic Sean Neville was also promoted to lieutenant at the meeting. Neville started with the Bolingbrook Fire Department in 2008 as a firefighter/paramedic, Mayor Mary Alexander-Basta said during Tuesday's swearing-in. He is a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, and was honorably discharged in 2004. Neville has a Bachelor's degree in fire services administration from Southern Illinois University. "When people ask me what I do, I tell them I'm a firefighter and I tell them that it's the greatest job in the world," Neville said. Firefighter/paramedics Timothy Zabelka, Deimantas Paulikas and Joseph Tortorich were also sworn in at Tuesday's meeting. Alexander-Basta said Zabelka is a graduate of Argo High School and has previously worked at Glenwood Fire Department. He attended Moraine Valley Community College and has an Associate's degree in fire service operations. Paulikas graduated from high school in Naperville, and has previously worked at Normal Fire Department. He also attended the College of DuPage and received an Associate's degree in Emergency Medical Services, Alexander-Basta said. Tortorich graduated from Plainfield South High School, and has previously worked as a firefighter with the Bridgeview Fire Department.
