DEARBORN HEIGHTS, MI — Sts. Peter & Paul Romanian Orthodox Church has invited the public to dine-in to some homemade traditional Romanian foods, European wine and must, which is sweet grape juice. The Church's fifth annual Grape Festival will be held on on Saturday, Oct. 16, 2:00 to 11:00 p.m. Participants this year will have the option to eat indoors or in a tent outside, as well as asking for a carry-out (pre-ordering is not required). The traditional Romanian foods will include mititei (grilled ground pork), mamaliga cu branza (cornmeal & cheese souffle), sarmale (stuffed cabbage rolls), cartofi prajiti (fresh cut French fries), ciorba de burta (tripe soup), placinte (plain or cheese filled doughnuts), Romanian-style coleslaw, and homemade pastries. In addition, a variety of Romanian wines, which some consider the best in Europe will be available for the adults. Also available for adults will be Timisoreana beer, which is imported from one of Romania's oldest breweries. Soft drinks and imported Romanian mineral water will also be available. The church is located at 750 N. Beech Daly Road, between Ford and Cherry Hill Roads. Parking is available in the church parking lot.
