HOOVER, AL — More than a year after the deaths of 11-year-old Emrhye Prude and 8-year-old Serris Prude in a crash in Hoover, the man charged with murder in the children's deaths has been arrested.
The US Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested 46-year-old Christopher Shane Anagnos in Mexico Wednesday.
Anagnos was driving a GMC truck on Highway 31 in front of Hoover Square Sept. 10, 2020, when he struck the Prude family's Honda Fit from behind, police said. The Honda was then propelled into the back of a Lexus, which in turn hit a Ford truck from behind.
Hoover police said they determined that Anagnos was under the influence of multiple controlled substances and was texting while driving at the time of the crash.
