Description

I’m new in town by way of Denver and Austin, and looking to find a like-minded, creative songwriting partner (amateur welcome) to make original music with and maybe perform when the time is right. I’d like relatable catchy, smart songs with sharp lyrics, multilayered hooks, and something to say. I particularly like music that is textured, dynamic, and conveys a feeling of wide open spaces (probably as I listen to music when driving and running). About me: I play guitar, write, and enjoy the visual arts aspect to music. I’m a little older but look younger, work an 8-5 type M-Th, and like to stay healthy. I’m no virtuoso, but creative and enjoy constructing catchy music. My influences are eclectic and include a wide range of indie, alternative, new wave, Americana, alt-country, hip hop, and even electronic and synth/dream pop (and everything in between). My previous project was Austin-based After the Storms and was more of an alt-country thing: https://afterthestorms.bandcamp.com You: Can sing and hopefully play something (guitar, keys, etc.). Male/female, amateur, doesn’t really matter. Creativity is a must with a desire to collaborate, write, and play originals (maybe some covers too). The concept: I’m open to discover our sound together. Personally, I’d like to create minimalistic, textured songs that combine and weave elements of new wave bands, dream pop like Beach House, Future Islands, etc., and indie acts such as Sonic Youth, Pixies, Pavement, Radiohead, etc. in an accessible package. I really dig the Talking Heads and think there are still a lot of new possibilities in their sounds. I look forward to hearing your ideas. Please share some links/videos to some of your music.
