Senior jazz guitarist seeks jazz bassist

Description

Former full-time professional guitarist, 73, seeks jazz bassist. I like and have played a variety of genres, rock, top 40 etc, but today find myself concentrating on playing ideas through the changes of standards. Would like to find a bassist of compatible age who is familiar with and comfortable with the standards, real book charts, etc. I have charts on lots of other stuff, too, and have a lot of rock, blues and other influences in my playing, and in fact am inspired by stuff other than the standards, but the standards are the foundation of what I do today, and so would be interested in finding a kindred spirit on bass. At this point the question of gigging again seems far fetched, so I'm interested in just playing again with a bassist or keyboardist, someone who can trade accompaniment duties. In other words, I'm not interested in accompanying horns or vocalists right now; I need to find a bassist first. If I can find that, then yes, vocals etc would be the next step. Need to start with the bedrock first. Or would be interested in finding an existing outfit, but an improvising band, one that opens up appropriate tunes for playing, and not limited to rote covers. I did that for years, and tried to do that again in recent years, but... I need to be able to play, at least some of the time. : ) I have great equipment, pedals, etc. Jazz rock, anyone? Jazz blues organ trio?
