Join a panel of 4 directors/producers for their perspective on what it takes to become a lead actor. Directors and producers Garrett Batty, John Lyde, Brian Brough, and Brittany Wiscombe will share their perspectives on what to work on to become a lead actor. From auditioning, preparing for your role, working on set, and working well to be hired on the next movie, learn from them about how to move from being a day player actor to landing the leading roles in films. This seminar is made possible by the Edification Through Media Foundation, a 501(c)3 charitable organization focused on supporting edifying entertainment. Any proceeds from this event will be used to further the foundation's mission. About the Panelists: Garrett Batty is an independent film producer, director and writer. His works include the theatrical features The Saratov Approach, Freetown, and most recently Out of Liberty. Batty has also produced and directed pilot episodes for "See the Good" (BYUtv), "Let's Get Epic" (VidAngel), and directed the feature-length Vietnam doc The Journey Home, starring Jon Voight. Batty has worked in over 30 countries creating award-worthy content to entertain and inspire audiences. Brian Brough has directed and/or produced over 40 feature films since 1999. Those films have gone on to be licensed all over the world to major networks and streaming platforms, including Lifetime, Hallmark, UpTV, SyFy, Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, and Roku. Brian’s unique experience in development, production, and distribution have catapulted his company, Candlelight Media Group, as a globally respected film production and distribution company. John Lyde is a feature film director, cinematographer, and editor. John has edited over 50 feature films and been the cinematographer on over 35 feature films covering all genres - Action, Family, Romance, Comedy, Thriller and Horror. John has directed over 25 feature films. Family films are his favorite to make. John recently shot, edited and directed five episodes of the CW TV fantasy series, "The Outpost." Brittany Wiscombe develops, writes and produces films, which she has been focused on since 2005. In her film career, she has written and produced 30 feature films across a variety of genres. She also directed the historical feature In Emma’s Footsteps in 2018. Brittany oversees casting in all her productions. Her recent films include Stalked in Paradise, Hot Chocolate Holiday, Just Add Love and Lights, Camera, Romance.
