Have you ever seen an animal track on the ground and wondered what animal may have left it behind? Whether you're a naturalist, biology student, or just an explorer, by learning how to track wildlife you will be better equipped to locate and observe animals in the wild for photography, art, wildlife studies, and just connecting to the natural world around you in a whole new way. During this introduction to animal tracking we will explore the exciting world of reading the earth to discover the stories that the wildlife of Central Texas leave behind each and every day.
This is a two-part workshop that includes classroom work (Thursday 7pm at Buzz Mill) and field exploration together (Saturday 1pm at Roy G Guerrero Park). We will look at animal tracks big and small from a wide variety of species of mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians and insects. Discover the world of the naturalist through the eye of the tracker asking who, what, when, where, why & how.
