I never thought I'd be the type of person to put up a listing asking for someone who is a "self starter" (BLEH), but I'm really looking for that kind of person. I build and maintain websites when I'm not building and maintaining websites at my 9-5. I'm looking to expand my clientele on my side business, but I have zero interest in selling. For example, at the start of COVID I knew websites would be super important and I could build E-commerce solutions for businesses in the area and make a killing, but I just hate selling. I got a new job that allows me much more time to work on my side business, and I still hate selling. I've hired someone for this role before and it just didn't really work out. The reason it didn't work out was mostly because I didn't set expectations at the beginning, so I'll set them here and now so you don't spend your time messaging me to find out you're not interested. I'm looking for someone who is: - Most importantly you should be able to work independently, but I will be available to you pretty much 24/7. I don't have a lot of time to hand hold, and even if I did I would not want to do so. The main objective here is to sell websites and website maintenance plans, how you do it is up to you. I don't have any systems set up, however you want to bring in clients - it doesn't matter to me. - Just looking for extra income, I am not at a point where I can employ you fully. Although, I would LOVE to get to that point. - Outgoing (or you can fake it) and respectful. I'm looking for someone to represent me and my business, so respect for clients and myself is mandatory. - People with transportation will be given priority over those without it, but we can work something out if you don't have transportation (e.g. Uber, I can drive, etc...). - Experienced candidates will be given preference, but if you can demonstrate an ability to understand what I'm trying to sell and are outgoing and respectful then you will be considered. - Willing to meet with business owners (including me) in person. COVID has taken a psychological toll on a lot of people and that's understandable, but this position may occasionally require in-person visits to potential clients where you will respect their rules about masks. PAY I hate people who don't include pay in their listings so here's a breakdown of how you will be paid: - If I need you to do any hourly work for whatever reason, the pay rate is $18/hr. This will not happen often, this job is mainly commission based. - If you sell a website over $1,000 you get 20% - I've built websites that have cost $300k in the past, so this isn't chump change. The average price of my sites are about $5k, with the floor being $1000 and the ceiling being ~$10k. For a website under $1,000 (I usually don't take sites under $1k, but occasionally I will if work is very slow), you just get $100. - If you sell a maintenance plan, you get the first month's payment and 10% for a year after the first month. So say you sell a maintenance plan for $100, you get the $100 and then $10/month for a year. You can see the maintenance plans here Your payment is predicated on the client's payment, I can't afford to pay you upwards of $1,000 and then have the client not pay. When I get paid, you get paid and you will be paid immediately, I don't mess around with people's money. Monthly payments will be sent to you via CashApp or Venmo on the 15th of every month. Commission payments are sent out as soon as I receive final payment from a client. Hourly payments are sent out every Friday. All of these numbers are flexible, if you're still reading this far down I'm already impressed with you. I've made this intentionally long to weed out people who aren't actually interested.
