We invite you to join your fellow Veterans for a therapeutic day on the water. We will follow with a BBQ lunch at Browns Creek Fish Camp. If you would like to sign up to stay on land, there is a specific section for that.
Rules:
HOW events are ALCOHOL FREE.
Vets/guests are NOT allowed to go kayak fishing during the event without a HOW guide.
You MUST wear your PFD the entire time you are out in a kayak.
Food will be provided but you are welcome to bring your own snacks/food/drinks if you have special needs/preferences.
Heroes on the Water's mission is to help veterans, active duty military and first responders relax, rehabilitate and reintegrate into society through kayak fishing and the outdoors. Over the past several years of taking men and women of all branches of the armed services out kayak fishing, we have learned first hand the "triple therapy" of kayak fishing - physical with paddling and fishing; occupational in learning a new skill and a sport they can do for a lifetime; and mental in the relaxation and freedom out on the water.
