Porter / Assistant Maintenance Technician – Information and Job Summary Location: Portland on the Park Condominium (High Rise / Downtown Phoenix) 200 W Portland Street Phoenix, Arizona 85003 34 hours a week; 4 weekday shifts 9am-5pm (Tuesday through Friday - 32 hours) 1 weekend shift (Sunday – 2 hours) Hourly Wage; 17.50 per hour. Porters / Assistant Maintenance Technician must have the skills to perform a wide range of cleaning & maintenance tasks on property in a reasonable amount of time and in an industry accepted workmanship manner. Gathering and removal of building recyclables & rubbish is imperative. Position includes maintaining the parking garage, various indoor & outdoor facilities, restrooms, floors, rugs, walls, windows. Essential Duties & Responsibilities The job duties listed are typical examples of the work performed by positions in this job classification. • Pick up trash from grounds and parking garage • Sweep or hose off walkways and common areas • Clean pool deck / arrange pool furniture • Clean around trash compactors and trash containers • Remove all recyclables from resident level refuse rooms, transport to main level • Ensure all refuse rooms are clean and organized • Rotate trash and recycle containers as needed • Consistent use of trash compactor unit • Ensure trash & recycle containers are taken to and from the street curb up to three days a week • Sweep all curbs, breezeways and front entries • Clean exterior light fixtures, benches, and pillars • Empty trash cans throughout lobby area, common areas, etc. • Maintain garage levels including dusting, sweeping and notifying General Manager of any issues • Power washing common areas and parking garage areas in need • Clean BBQ grills at pool and on rooftop • Assist with watering of landscape if needed • Wash handrails and stairway rails when needed • Additional duties or job functions may be required as deemed necessary, such as cleaning floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing or vacuuming them per the prescribed schedule • Setup, arrange and remove decorations, tables, chairs, to prepare facilities for events • Responsible for maintenance cart and supplies on maintenance cart (cart must be stored out of sight when not in use) • Be courteous and pleasant to residents at all times • Properly performs casual labor, such as lifting/moving heavy items as directed by General Manager while following appropriate safety procedures. • Performs minor maintenance replacement and repairs in areas of carpentry, electrical work, HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, painting, flooring, and other building repairs • Follow safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment. • Ensure all safety precautions are followed while performing work Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
