Description

Start at the John Brown House and follow the route to answer questions along the way to the Himelrigh Farm for the 2021 Road Rally. Bob Hutchison and Tom Hutchison are the Premier Sponsors of the 2021 Rubber City Road Rally series. This year the Rubber City Road Rally will be a family or group of friends affair for $20 per car. Guests will start with instructions at the John Brown House, a goodie bag for each participant and a route for driving with questions to answer along the way to the Himelrigh Farm in Barberton. Can you take home the honor as the winner of this challenging, scenic and fun course through Summit County? This year, there is no age limit to participate (but also no alcohol) and you can join at your own comfort level by keeping your car to just one family or load up with friends for a Sunday drive. This is the first in a series of three events. Car tickets are good for the October 24th event. Patron tickets provide admission to all three events (one each in October, November and December). Tickets will be sold separately for November and December in the future. Here are the options to participate this month: 1) $20 per car - Make sure to share how many will be attending so we have enough goodie bags. There will also be hot dogs, chips and a drink at the end. 2) $175 Patron Ticket - You'll receive a ticket to each event in the three series program for October, November (a B&B - barns and beverages tour) and December (a tour of local churches), a Mutton Hill commemorative ornament made by Zeber-Martell and special invites to private options not open to the public centering on the rally themes. Couples can purchase a $300 patron ticket. 3) $10 route copy - there's never enough time so we understand if you can't join us on the rally day but you would love to drive the route another time. We'll mail you the directions and questions with the answers in a sealed envelope after the event. At Himelrigh Farm, you'll enjoy the amazing farm atmosphere while checking out the silent auction items including barn paintings by Dr. Robert Kroeger who has documented these agricultural structures throughout the state. Remember to bring some cash to purchase your Halloween decorations or fresh produce at the farm. Founded in 1924, the mission of Summit County Historical Society, a 501(c)3 corporation, is to preserve and interpret the history of Summit County and Akron, and to educate regional communities about the people and events that have shaped our rich history.
