SALEM, MA — U.S. Rep. Seth Moulton has endorsed Salem Mayor Kim Driscoll's bid for re-election for a fifth term as the city's mayor. Moulton (D-Salem) announced his endorsement on his Twitter account on Wednesday afternoon. "As a Salem voter myself, I'll be voting to re-elect (Driscoll) as my mayor," Moulton posted. "Kim Driscoll engineered a plan to turn Salem into a thriving city, and we can see the success of that plan today. "In our several years of overlapping public service, I've had the pleasure of working closely with her on multiple occasions. I share her vision for Salem's future, which includes improved affordable housing options throughout the North Shore region and beyond." Driscoll responded, thanking Moulton for "your support and your partnership." Driscoll and Ward 7 City Councilor Steve Dilbble were the top two vote-getters in the city's preliminary election on Sept. 14 where Driscoll got 60 percent of the vote and Dibble had 39 percent. They will face off in a debate at Salem State University on Monday night ahead of the city's general election to be held on Nov. 2. Wednesday is the final day for Salem residents to vote in the Nov. 2 election. Residents can check their registration status here. Those wishing to register by the 8 p.m. deadline can do so here.
