Description
I'm looking for a female singer for a new bossa nova project. The cool thing about bossa nova is that it straddles many genres and styles, jazz, Latin, world, folk...So you do not need to be experienced in this style although some background in Latin and jazz would be helpful. And of course you'd need to be committed to learning the material. I intend to have a wide ranging repertoire, not just limited to Jobim and Astrud Gilberto. I'm an experienced guitarist, songwriter and bandleader who has played and recorded in many different styles but bossa nova has always had a special place in my heart. The beauty of the genre is that it can work in many different settings, from acoustic duos to a full band with horns and a rhythm section, and everything in between. Of course that also opens up a wide range of gigging opportunities including private events. I know lots and lots of local musicians on various instruments, but good singers are always hard to come by. So if this sounds like you and you're...young-ish, let's meet up! Oh, and you do not need to sing in Portuguese although that would be awesome. There are lots of good English translations available. Looking forward to hearing from you.
