Clinical nurse educators with Northwest Health La Porte’s Birthing & Family Care Center will have mannequins on hand to help review best practices for caring for babies. Topics include:    Transition of care: Skin to skinNewborn tests and proceduresNewborn appearanceSkin, cord, and diaper careBathing and shampooingGagging and choking: Bulb syringe useProper positioning: Safe sleep and tummy timeClass sizes are limited to 8 people. You are welcome to bring a support person. Advanced registration is required for both mother and support person. Masks are required.
