WAUKESHA, WI—Two people died after a single-engine Glastar plane crashed in the Village of Waukesha around 9:35 a.m. Tuesday, according to the Waukesha County Sheriff's Office.
The Milwaukee Approach Control Tower lost both radio and radar communication with the airplane, the sheriff's office said.
Residents from both the Village of Vernon and Village of Waukesha called 911 to report a loud noise and debris in the area, the sheriff said.
The airplane was located in a wooded area south of Redwing Drive. The two passenger onboard were pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported.
The plane was flying from Timmerman Airport in Milwaukee to Salina Regional Airport in Kansas, the Federal Aviation Administration said.
