HELLO TANA Presents an evening w/ Alabama's Poet Laureate, Ashley M. Jones & Charlotte "Mama C" Hill O'Neal: One People, One Mic, One Night Join HELLO TANA as we welcome Mama C back to Birmingham! Poet, painter, singer, musician, and community activist, Charlotte Hill O'Neal is a Black Panther from Kansas City, MO who has been living in exile with her husband, Pete O'Neal, in Tanzania for over 50 years. Birmingham's own Ashley M. Jones, Poet Lauraete for the state of Alabama, will share the stage and mic with Mama C, along with a few other esteemed guests, including Sister Sanovia Muhammad and Rev. Majadi Baruti. As she travels to the United States for events commemorating the 55th anniversary of the Black Panther Party, this year also marks Mama C's 25th Annual Heal the Community Tour, the premier fundraising event in the U.S. for her village homestead and children's home, The Children of Tomorrow, as well as The O'Neal Legacy Project. Admission is free with pre-registration. Merchandise and snacks will be sold. Attendees are strongly encouraged to make thoughtful donations to Mama C's cause.
