DANBURY, CT — Four K-8 schools in Danbury have been named among the top 200 in Connecticut in a new report by U.S. News & World Report.
Two elementary schools, and two middle schools made the cut for the publication's inaugural list.
The Western Connecticut Academy of International Studies Elementary Magnet School was ranked #58, and Great Plain School came in at #70. Among the top middle schools in the state, Westside Middle School Academy was ranked #107, and King Street Intermediate School was #116.
U.S. News published rankings and data on more than 80,000 public elementary and middle schools across the United States.
In Connecticut, a total of 848 schools were ranked, 560 elementary and 288 middle schools.
Schools are ranked at the state and district levels. The best charter schools and best magnet schools ranked as stand-alone categories.
U.S. News ranked Booth Free School in Roxbury as the top in Connecticut among K-8 schools, according to the new list.
