Description

Press release from the City of San Antonio: Friday, October 1, 2021 CONTACT: Imgard Rop Director of Public Relations [email protected] | (210) 207-8261 OCTOBER 1, 2021 - CPS Energy is starting disconnections of power for non-payment. Councilman McKee-Rodriguez vehemently opposes the disconnections as we are still in the midst of a pandemic and living within largely ineffective or just patchworks of laws and decrees; many of which don't protect everyday, working class people who have been on the front lines from the beginning. Many continue to try to catch up, but also struggle with finding work which pays living wages, affordable healthcare, viable transportation, childcare, and housing. District 2 wants to thank the Neighborhood and Housing Services Department for their continued work with the Emergency Housing Assistance Program (EHAP). We also want to thank the many community organizations and San Antonians who have assisted thousands in applying for both rental and utility assistance. We urge anyone still in need of assistance to call 311 or my office at (210) 207-0950. District 2 will be assisting in filling out assistance applications tomorrow, October 2, from 10 am - 1 pm at the Antioch Sports Complex (314 Eross Street). We encourage anyone in need of assistance from any side of San Antonio to join us for various resources. This press release was produced by the City of San Antonio.
