Golden Retriever Lab Mix – Have you discovered the Goldador Dog?
A Goldador is the product of breeding a purebred Golden Retriever with a purebred Labrador Retriever. A cross between two of the most popular and well-loved breeds in the world!!
If there ever was a better family dog, I’m not sure you’ll find one more suitable than a Goldador. You’re also not likely to find a better working dog for many rolls. Both Goldens and Labs are known for their excellence in hunting.
The Goldador makes amazing seeing-eye dogs, search and rescue dogs, and therapy dogs. The Goldador is a big player in the world of Guide Dogs for the Blind and the service animals.
They are wonderful with children and other dogs. They ideally need room to run with a fenced yard. The Goldador’s will require regular walks and lots of self-exercise to keep their musculoskeletal system healthy and to keep their weight down.
Goldador’s always inherit the Labs thick double coat with short coat length or may exhibit a slightly longer and waiver version of the Golden’s coat, but without as much feathering.
These dogs enjoy runs, hikes, and swims, so be sure to take them along on your family adventures whenever possible!
Fun fact: The Guide Dogs For The Blind Association state that they are the most successful guide dog of all! You can’t get much higher in praise than that.
