Description
PLEASANTON, CA — Help feed 800 hungry families in Pleasanton and beyond this holiday season by contributing to the sixth annual Mony Nop Turkey Drop.
Frozen turkeys, gift cards and cash can be dropped off at the Thanksgiving and Christmas donation drive from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Nov. 21, in front of Livermore's city hall at 1052 S. Livermore Ave.
Patrons at Livermore's Grocery Outlet store at 1320 Railroad Ave. can visit the store in November to donate cash or a gift card to the store. Frozen turkeys may be pre-purchased.
Donations will benefit Tri-Valley Haven, which serves Dublin, Pleasanton and Livermore residents in need. The organization has run out of turkeys in years past, thus the Mony Nop Turkey Drop donation drive was born, according to a news release from Tri-Valley Haven.
"This fun event is a small way that everyone can give back to the community during the holidays," said local realtor Mony Nop.
All donations are appreciated.
Support Patch's Efforts To Feed Hungry Families Patch has teamed with Feeding America to help raise awareness on behalf of the millions of Americans facing hunger. Feeding America, which supports 200 food banks across the country, estimated that in 2020, more than 50 million Americans will not have enough nutritious food to eat due to the effects of the coronavirus pandemic. This is a Patch social good project; Feeding America receives 100 percent of donations. Find out how you can donate in your community or find a food pantry near you.
