VisionCorps Prepped For In-Person Services In Chesco

CHESTER COUNTY, PA — A nonprofit that brings services and programs to people with vision challenges is ready to get back in the community face-to-face to share what it has to offer. VisionCorps offers free programs about its services — both in-person and virtual — to organizations and employers. The programs can be individualized for the needs of the group, and include information on vision problems, living with low vision, employing people with low vision, and tips for living independently with blindness or low vision. "Many community groups, churches, and employers are meeting in person," said Dennis Steiner, VisionCorps President and CEO. "We can come to meetings and present programs to meet their needs – or offer virtual programs if groups prefer that option." All the programs are provided free of charge, and all services offered to clients of VisionCorps are free, said Steiner. VisionCorps serves clients in Chester, Lancaster, Adams, Lebanon, and York counties. "We want people to know about the services we provide," said Steiner. "We offer education and prevention of blindness services, rehabilitation, and employment to individuals in South Central Pennsylvania." VisionCorps programs include a general presentation about its mission and services, specific rehabilitation tips for those living with low vision, and training and Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for employees who work with individuals who are blind or have low vision. VisionCorps is a nonprofit that aims at empowering people who are blind or vision impaired to attain independence by providing them with the tools and training, including employment, to empower them.
