CONCORD, NH — Minutes after Concord firefighters helped a driver out of a car crash, crews worked to put out a small house fire. Just before 11:45 a.m. Concord firefighters responded to a rollover crash at the intersection of LoudonRoad and Route 106 to find the driver trapped inside. Once crews got the driver out, the firefighters received word of a structure fire near Canton Circle. The department says it took slightly more than 5 minutes for the firefighters to arrive on the scene as they were still returning from the accident and were not at their station. Firefighters say they found light smoke coming from a second-floor window of an attached townhouse unit. Once they got inside, crews found a small kitchen fire and quickly extinguished the flames. The Red Cross was contacted to help assist the five displaced residents. Concord Fire Marshal Paul Sirois says the fire was caused by an unattended pot left on the stovetop. All people the department helped are expected to be okay.
