MEDIA, PA — Two women who worked at Delaware County's Fair Acres Geriatric Center have been accused of lying on overtime forms, tantamount to theft. Authorities said Donna Perkins, 55, and Keisha Buckley, 49, both of Chester, have been charged with felony theft and related charges for altering overtime records in the Fair Acres' payroll system to increase their compensation. Both were employed by the County's skilled nursing facility, Fair Acres Geriatric Center. On Sept. 27, county detectives were contacted by William D'Amico, the administrator of Fair Acres, who told them two employees were logging into the Fair Acres' payroll system and adding unauthorized overtime hours to their pay. Authorities interviewed Faith Price, Fair Acres' payroll supervisor, who was the first person to identify the discrepancies. D'Amico, Price and assistant administrator Donna Sweeney confronted employees Keisha Buckley and Donna Perkins, and both admitted to their fraudulent actions. Both were terminated. Working in cooperation with the County Controller's office, investigators determined that in theperiod from 2020 to 2021, Buckley added $7,450 in overtime compensation, and Perkins added overtime $8,626 in compensation. Buckley and Perkins have been released on unsecured bond. Preliminary hearings are scheduled for Oct. 27.
