The Parent Community Network has joined forces with the Glenbard Parenting Series. The Lyons Township High School community is invited to connect with other high school parents and students for the Glenbard Parent Series. Workshops are designed to engage top experts, parents and school staff to become proactive and informed in pursuit of the mutual goal to strengthen our communities. Programs are free and open to the public. Below is the lineup of October speakers. Tuesday, October 12, at 7pm Marc Brackett, Ph.D., Permission to Feel: Unlocking the Power of Emotions to Help Our Kids, Ourselves and Our Society Thrive Join the Founder and Director of the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence, whose groundbreaking work in the emotional intelligence field has helped hundreds harness the power of emotions to achieve better outcomes. How we feel influences our thoughts, ability to learn, decisions, relationships, health, creativity, and everyday performance. Learn a set of skills to help us use our emotions wisely, so we can flourish, achieve our desired goals and be our best selves. Here are the common myths and a set of practical, scientifically-validated techniques for living a more satisfying life.
