CHICAGO, IL — It may have been a long wait, but for the participants in the 43rd edition of the Chicago Marathon, it was worth it. Not run since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, Sunday's race was filled with local participants. There were 93 Aurora runners who finished the marathon. The marathon was won by Seifu Tura, of Ethiopia, and Ruth Chepngetich of Kenya, in 2 hours, 6.12 seconds, and 2:22:31, respectively. Daniel Romanchuk and Tatyana McFadden, both of the United States, won the wheelchair race. They finished at 1:29:07 and 1:48:57, respectively. Of locals from Aurora who ran, participant Mark Biagini was the fastest, finishing the race in 3 hours, 19 minutes and 48 seconds.
