DETROIT — Classes were canceled Wednesday morning at East English Village Preparatory Academy following a Tuesday brawl during the high school's lunch period.
Dozens of Detroit Police officers were called to help school officers contain the physical fights.
Although a social media video showed the brawl escalating as well as a chair striking a Detroit Police officer, no one was seriously injured.
Following an investigation, school officials and police believe the fight was linked to gang activity.

"There were 10 arrests and it was determined that the fight was linked to gang activity," DPSCD superintendent Nikolai Vitti told WDIV. "What happened today is unacceptable and with the right systems and structures put in place, the extra support, the extra monitoring, and problem solving, this will stop." Vitti said.
