WORCESTER, MA — A major downtown Worcester intersection was partially closed during rush hour on Wednesday after a pedestrian collision, police reported. The incident happened at the northern end of Main Street at Highland Street. That intersection feeds traffic onto eastbound and westbound I-290 at Lincoln Street and on Belmont Street. According to police, the westbound lane of Highland was closed so officers could investigate the cause of the collision. Police did not immediately provide details about injuries or who was involved in the incident. Traffic: Please avoid the area of Highland Street due to a pedestrian crash that occurred in the vicinity of Highland and Main Streets.
