Here are the top stories in Atlanta today: Cisco Systems, a global technology company headquartered in San Jose, California, announced Wednesday that it will open an innovation office at Coda at Tech Square in Midtown. Cisco, which manufactures and sells computer-networking equipment and software, plans to invest $41 million in Atlanta and hire 700 new employees. Cisco joins an ever-growing list of technology companies that have opened new offices in Midtown. (Atlanta Journal Constitution)Rapper Boosie Badazz has been arrested and faces multiple charges stemming from a destructive concert Oct. 1 at State Farm Arena. According to Fulton County jail records, the rapper, whose real name is Torrence Hatch and who also goes by Lil Boosie, was charged Monday with two felony counts of second-degree criminal damage to property, and one misdemeanor count each of inciting a riot, disorderly conduct and criminal trespass. The incidents occurred after the "Legendz of the Streetz" show at the arena that also featured artists 2Chainz, Rick Ross, Jeezy and Gucci Mane. After spending a night in jail, the rapper was released Tuesday. (Atlanta Patch)An Atlanta father-daughter team received federal prison terms for selling millions of dollars of stolen products online. According to Acting U.S. Attorney Kurt R. Erskine, Robert Whitley, 70, and his daughter Noni Whitley, 47, ran the retail crime operation for over eight years, relying on shoplifters to steal items from various drugstore and supermarket chains throughout metro Atlanta. The pair is believed to have sold stolen retail items worth more than $6.1 million. (CBS46 News Atlanta)A French man was charged and a Delta employee was suspended after TSA agents found nearly a dozen guns hidden inside luggage bound for an international flight from Atlanta. According to a Homeland Security Investigations account, Kenan L'Homme was traveling with a Delta employee, who is a close relative, when the weapons were discovered in checked bags moving through scanners at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport. A Delta spokesperson said the employee has been placed on suspension pending an investigation. (WSB Atlanta)A pilot project geared to renovating playgrounds and green spaces has chosen the final four Atlanta schools to receive improved schoolyards. The Trust for Public Land's Atlanta Community Schoolyards Project, launched in 2019, has selected Scott Elementary School, Continental Colony Elementary School, Price Middle School and Toomer Elementary School.
