Description
I'm looking for an experienced guitarist to participate in writing and evolving the songs I currently have, in addition to creating new songs together.
End goal would be getting in a flow of writing music and form an original band around our songs.
I'm a female in my late 20's and would prefer someone between the ages of 21-40 years old.
About me.
I'm fairly established as a vocalist. I have been performing with a cover band in Austin for the last 5 years and I play my originals at open mics. I play guitar in order to write/perform my music but I prefer not to play and just to sing.
About music.
What I'd like to write (with a band) is music that is more dynamic, meaning there is a melody with harder parts intertwined.
Examples being,
- 'The Funeral' by Band or Horses.
- 'Gimme All Your Love' by Alabama Shakes.
- 'Shake it out' by Manchester Orchestra.
It's more important that I fulfill a song than have it match a certain genre though. I try to trust the creative process and let the songs figure themselves out instead of forcing particular sounds on them. I have a large collection of indie rock songs that I've written (as singer-songwriting goes). I'm also really moved by soul music which I tend to incorporate in my vocals. Favorite album is probably In Rainbows by Radiohead. Oh and Stevie Nicks is my girl too, so really, I'm all over the place, but it works for me.
If you think it could work for you then please email something I can listen to. I can send you some recordings in return and if it's a mutual fit, we can meet up to jam.
