Description
Hey, thanks for checking out my ad.
I'm a drum kit player. I've been playing for about 10 years, but I feel like I only learned how to practice about a year ago. I took lessons on and off for about three years and am looking to start taking them again. In other words, I don't quite have pro-level skills yet, but I'm inching towards those.
I would like to find other musicians who are similarly dedicated to their instrument(s) and to music in general, and start rehearsing and writing with the goal of recording and playing out.
The bands I've played in have all been rock/rock-ish outfits, but I don't necessarily have a specific genre in mind for this. Ideally, though, we'll have a synth/keys player. I'm trying to learn the piano myself, and I'm eventually going to learn the basics of the glockenspiel/xylophone, too.
One more note: I'm a trans woman, although at this point no one can really "tell." I mention this not because I want Brownie points or because I've run into a lot of bigots or anything, but because the scene, such as it is, seems to attract its share of activist types, many of whom become upset when, say, a trans woman will not parrot their worldview. Not that I need to be bffs with my bandmates, but, like everyone else, I'm trying to limit the amount of time and effort I waste on people I don't trust or respect.
If any of the above piques your interest, drop me a message and tell me a little bit about yourself and your music. I'm trying to put together some vids/audio of me playing, but I probably won't have anything ready for at least a week or so.
Anyway, thanks for your time and attention, and I hope to hear from you!
