Job Description Seasonal position with state-of-the-art distribution center in southwest Jeffeson County. We currently have first and second shift positions available. First shift is $28/hour, 2nd is $30/hour. As the peak progresses, overtime will become common and will include some weekend work. Position will definitely work Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday. Previous warehouse lead/supervisor experience required. POSITION PURPOSE: Responsible for direction of daily departmental functions and supervision of all departmental associates. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Direct and supervise department staff, to maximize productivity and minimize cost while maintaining quality. Ensure proper training of department employees in processes and procedures. Measure and monitor departmental and individual performance levels. Communication of expectations and standards to associates and ensure developmental/improvement programs are in place as needed. Ensure established departmental goals and distribution deadlines are met. Responsible for completion of departmental payroll by established deadlines. Maintain all associate attendance records and ensure proper documentation is complete and submitted to HR. Maintain up to date and accurate associate documentation including problem/solution notices (disciplinary action) and performance reviews. Responsible for departmental reporting to Management including reporting of hours/units for daily production guide. Administration and enforcement of all company policies and regulations. Maintains a safe work environment and enforces all safety regulations. Ensure all associates utilize proper PPE as required. Ensure a safe work environment through education and training, promoting safety awareness and accountability, and identifying and addressing potential hazards. Responsible for completion of required incident/accident investigation reports immediately following all incidents. Oversee that the product is received, stored, and shipped in accordance with established procedures. Review effectiveness of operating procedures, maintenance, space utilization, and protection of equipment. Make recommendations for improvements as required. Determine the utilization of staffing based on the production needs of the department, including temporary and seasonal staffing. Maintain effective communication and correspondence with DC and Corporate departments in a professional manner.
